The Trustees' Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia was founded on 25 February 1926 at a meeting held at the public library. At this inaugural meeting, Mrs. Wimberly DeRenne was selected to preside as club president. The Trustees' Garden Club name was officially chosen by popular vote the following month on 5 March 1926. The name for the club derived from the first public gardens in Georgia established in Savannah in 1733 by the Trustees of the colony. The mission of the Trustees' Garden Club include...
